On my first day of medical school I met rural Maori for the first time. As a good young student I began virtue-signaling my enlightened views on race/lack of racism, which views have not changed fwiw. So I was taken aback when one of them shrugged and calmly insisted that everybody is racist, including him. It took decades to understand what he meant.

Meanwhile even Obama made comments about typical reactions of old white folk in reference to his mother. Doesn't matter whether he was right (which he was) but it's racist by definition, even if you do redefine your favorite epithets to exclude the evil cisheteropartiarchy. ;-)
