If you liked Dawn of the Dead then World War Z is worth a look. Actually tries to maintain a credible story line with plenty going on and believable characters. I found the loss of Jerusalem absolutely chilling.

Something else that might appeal, is the Resident Evil series, though only peripherally a zombie genre. Seen any of those? The final in the series was released in January 2017 but I think the first I saw was the 2010 Resident Evil: Afterlife, which is quite a good place to start. The first few minutes can give unwarned viewers a heck of a fright, so it's not one for a family movie night!
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
