>>We should do away with things like social security and Medicare. A return to "Real American Values" should be our goal. Work until you drop. :)

>This is something we've discussed at length before. 1 in 3 American's have zero saved for retirement and 71% don't save enough. In fact, nearly half of families have no retirement account savings at all. This is not because people do not want to do this, it's because they simply can't afford to do so as they often live paycheck to paycheck.

Agreed.

Except for a few cases among my acquaintances, most of the people I know in my generation are comfortably retired.

The people I know in my children's generation, however, are having a hard time providing for their retirements.
These are hard-working, well-educated professionals who live modestly, but their incomes simply have not kept up with skyrocketing living costs and they can't save the way I could.

Yes, that Labor pick was awful.

I understand that you would rather blame the victims of our economic system than to address a practical solution that actually helps people overcome this situation - but perhaps you should consider a more practical and compassionate approach to a solution than blaming people who don't get paid enough to even live off of for not making enough to have a retirement savings. It's 2017 not 1950. It would also be wise not to support a fast-food billionaire who thinks $8 an hour is too much money to pay an adult for a full time job for Secretary of Labor or the idiot dumb enough to attempt to appoint such a person to that position.
