>Could you be more specific, as this does not ring a bell here ?
First, Obama acknowledged Libya was his biggest foreign policy failure - YEARS later, when political damage would be minimized.
Here's the bottom line - throughout 2012 and prior to the Benghazi attack on 9/11/2012, there were roughly 40 different acts of violence/terrorism in Libya attributed to 2 factions of Ansar Al-Sharia, an Al-Q affiliate. Here are the main ones in the months leading to the Benghazi attack:
- April 10, 2012: An explosive device thrown at a convoy traveling in Benghazi carrying a U.N. envoy
- May 22, 2012: An RPG hits the Red Cross building in Benghazi, and the Red Cross pulls out
- June 6, 2012: An explosive device detonated just outside the Benghazi compound.
- June 11, 2012: Another RPG hit a convoy carrying the British ambassador, and the U.K. pulled out of Benghazi
And despite all this, Barack Obama, Susan Rice, and Hillary Clinton all LIED THROUGH THEIR COLLECTIVE TEETH about the cause of the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi that led to the deaths of four Americans. Barack Obama had already preached at the DNC convention in the summer of 2012 that "bin Laden was dead and Al-Q was on the run". So he knew on 9/11/2012 (the anniversary of the 9/11/2001 attacks) that if he told the truth about their poor risk assessment, he'd be discredited. So he lied, and painted the conservative press who criticized him as "crazy, right-wing nuts" Had Mitt Romney been more aggressive in calling Obama out on this, the U.S. would have been spared four years of one of the worst presidential terms in our lifetimes.
Right now you have the U.S. media hounding the Trump administration for the Flynn mess - and yet they were far more supine in their treatment of Obama during the Benghazi incident. Believe me, when I see political hacks on MSNBC calling for Trump's impeachment, when they also claimed four years ago there was "zero evidence" of any wrongdoing by the Obama administration on Benghazi, it makes my blood boil.
