>>So if it were ok then it has to be ok today ?
>
>That's not the point (to answer your question, such desecration is NEVER ok)
>
>The point is the sanctimonious hypocrisy of much of the media. - they will go out of their way to generate opposition to Trump but they were more accepting of the Obama administration.
>
>See Bill F's point about hate crime states. Others have brought up deportations that occurred under Obama.
>
>Many are up in arms about Trump and treatment of the media. What people tend to forget is how much the Obama administration shut out Fox News more than once. What people also forget (or don't even know) is the disgraceful (and likely illegal) treatment of reporter James Rosen (who is actually a registered Democrat) by Obama's DOJ (run at the time by Eric Holder). It doesn't matter if it's a conservative-based network or a liberal-based network - when the government tries to censor anyone, EVERYONE should be up in arms. *
And apparently, they were. Here is the first paragraph in the article from 2013, referenced below:
"Journalists, First Amendment watchdogs and government transparency advocates reacted with outrage Monday to the revelation that the Justice Department had investigated the newsgathering activities of a Fox News reporter as a potential crime in a probe of classified leaks."

I completely agree. However, some people find opinion so much juicier... and if it sounds convincing than why not use it as fact.(s)

>This is one of my problems with people who use the "I didn't speak up when ABC was threatened, I didn't speak up when XYZ was threatened, and then when I was threatened, there were no voices"....if that person winds up looking the other way because they don't like ABC/XYZ (or they make lame excuses for attacks on ABC/XYZ), then it's not principled.
>
>And back to Fox News - as angry as I get at them for some of the things they say, I'll bet money that Bill O'Reilly would speak up about Rachel Maddow being censored before Rachel Maddow would do the same.
