>>It would appear from public records that Jim Korenthal passed away in 2011 at the age of 65.

Or 60, depending where you look. I did see this in the Wiki, but the VFP community usually has been quite good at memorializing somebody like Jim and I wondered whether this is the same Jim. Certainly our Jim Korenthal was highly visible in the VFP community before disappearing from the scene abruptly and determinedly in the late 1990s if I recall correctly- no longer responding to service calls or even to opportunities for additional sales. There were brief discussions re open-sourcing in the mid-2000s but he didn't seem too concerned either way. Shame- in the VFP Compiler era, the C++ or ASM for PhdBase could have been inlined into VFP apps without need for additional dll dependencies that are easily hooked/hacked.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
