Hi Greg,

Thanks for the feedback.

Nice series of posts. But, for sure, made for those with a strong or at least decent command of compilers (à la C/C++) or at least Pascal or Delphi. Not my case anymore.

I just cannot spend the time to indulge in machine-code generation compiler technology and even more so spend the time to evaluate their technical values via robust tests cases and benchmarks.

As I said, last time I did that (with a copy of a K&R handbook) was in 1993. We are in 2017. Just not the time to do that investment Greg. Certainly not in to-days world of screaming fast JS and other LLVM-based python interpreters. Just not the time to invest in this part of technology.

Do I need to understand that Chuanbing tools is for those who still compile their host of flls on a regular basis and are still die-hard C devs as much as they are vfp ones? Possibly so. Then I am not in the target of baiyujia or other machine-code generation tools à la clipper such as Alaska tools.

I can certainly understand that. But is this population - VFP developers with a strong command of C/C++ - still a viable marketing target? I have my doubts and reservations about this. IMHO most VFP developers with a strong command of compilers and a willingness to work in static-orientated developments have moved their stuff to dotnet and/or java.

I am a bit disappointed that these great tools are not for the faint of heart!

Daniel - the faint of heart
