The thing is, manufacturers want to start making appliances that *only* have a web interface. They want your smartphone to be its UI instead of having a panel on the device itself. Reduces cost, more flexible. When one of those inevitably goes offline having hand-washing skills will be valuable ;)
If you have lots of dishes you need a dishwasher. A couple of family members have bought Boschs over the last couple of years - exceptionally quiet and do a good job
