It sounds modern. ;-)

VFP apps are so efficient and disk spooling avoids massive memory consumption for temporary dataset munging... so I'm not expecting any particular gain from 64bit. Also, a lot of the ActiveX supplied for free with 32bit Windows or VFP, don't exist for a 64bit OS unless you purchase a 64bit alternative and edit your code. But if there's only a 64bit driver for something- you can access it.

I have noted that the 64bit IDE is visibly quicker on my fast 8-core I7 machine. I used to see recorded startup macros spooling into the Command window when thunking 32-bit VFP, but VFP Advanced slams onto the screen instantly. And it avoids horror bugs that used to crash VFP- such as the locked dropdown in the Search dialog. You can develop in the 64bit IDE but compile to 32 or 64bit.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
