Personally, I don't care if they shut down Codeplex or not. I don't remember anything that I use from there. To me, it just looked another negative sign of MS credibility. Doing these little by little and getting reaction partially they can shut down things they want. When they shut down VFP, it was VFP developers who reacted and then silenced, then Silverlight, not everybody was using SL, only SL developers reacted. They did it to gotdot.net, probably people who reacted was even more less than in the other two, reactions weren't even heard.
The best would be to shut down MS completely.
