Yes, but some people are more likely to die sooner than others.

A young person with a high income and a young family can use life insurance as a way of cushioning the shock of an unexpected early death.

Life insurers keep premiums affordable to most people by excluding people with unusually higher risk of dying soon.

You can make the case that the family of a young person with pancreatic cancer should be protected as much as the family of a healthy person.

That's a noble thought, but it should be decided by the people whose premiums will be raised to provide that coverage, not some politician who is getting free life insurance coverage from the government.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
