>>So I know servicing has ceased for Foxpro and as well selling of licensing and all that. What I would like to know is realistically how long should I expect to be able to hold out with my applications working on workstations? i.e. they work on Windows 10. Eventually hardware will change and the OS will change to not allow a VFP application to run on a windows workstation. I know this is a guess, but as an educated guess, what would you all say? How many years would we have left before we are forced out of it?

Not sure the VB6/Access argument is an affirmative defense. That's almost like saying you're "pretty safe" because of all the RPG and Cobol code that still exists. :)

The truth is that a good chunk of those remaining VB6/Access apps are marginal apps. Because Fox was always touted as superior to VB6/Access, then (hopefully you see where I'm going with this).

Yes, there will still be Fox apps running in 5 years and even further. Note I referenced the U.S. in my original reply, as I recognize Fox is more popular in other countries right now.

But still....I'm not so sure it's "pretty safe", as much as "assuming increased risk". I recently picked up a side contract with a small business (using Fox) whose technology is now being evaluated by some larger outfits the small business wants to partner with. So they now acknowledge....
