>>I'm sure the google isn't any better. I'm definitely not getting anything Android or WP. The phone I have runs Symbian, is six years old (a battered but fully functional Nokia E5), and I'm not getting a new one until I find one running Ubuntu Touch.

I don't snoop into their private lives. Their interpretation of the golden rule ("we got the gold, we set the rule") is not to my liking. And do you trust them to never sell any of those data to a third party which may be hostile to you? Or that their future owners won't?
I've already found enough cases where the gathered data were used for some kind of action (legal, paralegal/police/border, aggressive advertising etc) against the subjects whose data were harvested. Don't know what is worse - when they have sparse data and act on tenuous inference, or when they have dense data and interpret them to their liking.
Man, you can be designated a terrorist by a flip of a bit.
>I suppose I would say that to me I don't care what they know. Its part of the environment like breathing.
I prefer to give them as little ammunition as possible, and to mess with their statistics as much as I can. The more ridiculous the better.
