Well if you say so... but this is for just the extreme cases, when the header was overwritten but at least the length of the file stayed, i.e. the offset to beginning of records stayed intact.
I fully understand that you had to have a situation or else you wouldn't be asking for this :). Inside, there be dragons (pun intended).
