>>Terry, I've never ran into this problem before with NT 4.0. If you are not adding any extrenal resources to your program other than your EXE (ie. OCX'S, etc.,) you should be able to just copy the EXE file (overriding the older one) without having to perform a new install.

NT has had a long history, and a number of patches and fixes have been released for it in the form of 'Service packs', which can be downloaded for free from Microsoft's web site, or are available on CD. The NT distribution in retail forms has not been changed in quite a while; you have to apply the service packs to get various fixes and features installed to NT.

Unfortunately, applying a Service Pack is not a permanent fix - if at some point NT is reloaded from its original image, some or all of the fixes applied previously are overwritten. Whenever this happens, you have to reapply the latest Service Pack you applied previously to ensure that the files replaced from the older image on your NT CD are poperly updated.

IOW, if you are running NT with SP4 (Service Pack 4) installed now, and you do a full or partial reinstall of NT, you'll need to reapply SP4 after your complete the reinstall process. For me, this tends to be a bit of a pain at times, especially with SP4, which doesn't like the video drivers for some of the display cards that I use (the Matrox G200 and ATI RAGE PRO chipset cards come to mind.)

I'd try reapplying the last Service Pack you used previously (at least SP3; SP4 is great, but as mentioned, can be a bit troublesome) before trying a complete reinstall over your existing NT.

>Thanks.
