Blair's quote is interesting: "It will keep cannabis out of the hands of children and youth, and stop criminals from profiting from it."

Re: children and youth - just like alcohol, I suppose...

Re: criminal profit - this means that the government (i.e. heavily regulated private producers up here) must be competitive with organized crime - provide a better product at a lower price. Just like with alcohol, our feds want it to be a cash cow so I have severe doubts on this score

I do think that legalizing possession of small quantities, and taking more action on drug-impaired driving are good things.
