>I have been very reluctant to answer to your messages, but here comes. You are very strong in your "belief", and that's good for you. You also have strong arguments, and that's also good. However, I think you are very arrogant when you choose your words Stupid and Silly in other messages in this thread. You have your ways of doing things, and they clearly work for you. But that doesn't give you the right to claim that yours is the only way. To be honest, I disagree with almost everything you write, but I refrain from commenting since I don't want to get demeaned by your harsh statements.

>Please choose your words better and accept that people disagree with you, There are a zillion ways to do things in VFP, but I am careful NOT to claim that one way is better than the other since no matter which solution you choose, it will have disadvantages or may fail in extreme cases.

Hi Tore

Thanks for your message.

First of all I have far to much respect for you and Cetin to get into a catfight.

Second. I'm a bit flabbergassed by people finding my usage of 'silly' and 'stupid' insulting in one sentence refering (with a clear IMO) to a practise, not as a personal qualification.
Perhaps a matter of culture is involved here, but by no means something that is meant to insult.

Also let me make clear that I was challenged by Cetin making a snarky comment about my practise dealing with the issue. If you challenge me, then please don't complain when I pick up that challenge.
I you can't stand the heat ....
And I will use confrontational (not to be confused as insulting) arguments if neccesary if that IMO is the only way to let people see there are holes in their believes.

If it comes down to pushing my way through, I do not think that is true. I've deliberately stated that everyone can have their own opinion and used the acronym 'YMMV' multiple times.

What I do feel though is that by the mdot prophets the practise of using mdot is shoved down our throat without giving the full unbiased picture. As I said above its difficult to use mdot to avoid the problem entirely and that public software is the proof of that all of them have loopholes in there that still allow the conflict to occur. I have ervery right to counterbalance the arguments to the 'common wisdom' and if I have to set the discussion on fire to use strong words (without the intention to insult), then I'll do so.

The goal of this discussion is for the benefit of the community so that the different voices are to be heard. Upon that basis everyone is free to draw their own conclusion. If I sound arrogant in the process, so be it. I'm not bothered with it. Whether you agree with it or not, is totally up to you. On the other side, expect me to show up where mdot evangalist ignore this and continue to propose a very limited and biased view on the matter.

If you feel insulted by the words 'silly' and 'stupid' my sincere appologies to you and Cetin.

Walter,
