You either do it well, or not at all. It does not make sense to have half baked implementation. You cannot enforce it to programmers while the current codebase has not been addressed.
And again, we have assessed it does not make any economic sense anyway.

As for performance, there is an entirely different matter. We have a only one instance where we used mdot only for that purpose, but in general its not making any difference.
We have gone through rounds of performance optimizations, but they all have to do with optimizing SQL, taking otu redundant method calls, virus scanning and sys(1104). mdot did not play any role in that.

However, I'm not here to tell you how you should make your business decisions, or what risks you should or should not accept. I just feel that if you started the discussion with what you said above, this thread would have been a lot shorter :)
