>>as is the case with the non mdot users.

Remember this?
myvar="hello"
? m->myvar
mdashgreaterthan predates mdot, pre-FP2.0 ... but there it still is. ;-) Along with some other unexpected internal commands that never were published and cannot be used in code, but are utilized in loops. When I first used FP I was amazed that you're allowed to return out of the middle of a loop or any other construct, without reaching its end as was/is required in most BASIC, PASCAL and other structured languages before then. Testament to hidden internal magic. ;-)

For a barrel of laughs, try this:
CREATE CURSOR m (myfield c(50))
What's your cursor called?
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
