> Nosh on a little blue cheese (I like Stilton) with walnut pieces.

The blue cheese is where my food diversity stops. I figure that's the closest I can get to understand those who can't digest lactose or who have various food allergies. Otherwise I can eat almost anything - I even thought, as a kid, that becoming adult is measured in the size of your no-eat list. The smaller the list, the more grown up you are. For a while my list was down to about three items (raw cucumbers, anything with too much sugar, anything with too much vinegar). The list has shifted a bit in the last couple of decades - allowing a bit more vinegar than before and more things with vinegar, but on the other side avoiding things with corn syrup (incl. soda), margarine, white bread (which I can eat but not happy with it), industrial tomatoes and strawberries (and generally all the plants that look nice but are artificially ripened on the surface) and anything with strong artificial flavor.

But blue cheese, even when 100% genuine, is not a preference, not an acquired distaste. It's simply not sitting well with my digestion. After just one bite it throws me into a dilemma - did I puke already or should I now?
