Hi Mark,

Welcome to the thread, nice to have you here with us. Since John and Paul both already answered your direct question, I'll address your book request.

There are a number of good books on the subject of FoxPro and SQL. One thing to bear in mind about SQL is that once you get into the query language, it's pretty much the same throughout. The same SQL code works in Fox, or VB, or C++, or whatever for that matter because the ODBC driver translates the SQL request into terms your provider can understand.

Book Recommendations :

"Visual FoxPro 5 Enterprise Development" by Ron Paddock & John Petersen. There's also a version of their book for FoxPro 6. (0761509038)

"Building Visual FoxPro 5 Applications" by Barrie Sosinsky (076458023X) I like this book mostly because of the sense of humor that Sosinsky brings to the material.

"SQL Puzzles & Answers" & "SQL for Smarties" both by Joe Celko (1558604537 & 1558603239)

These ought to keep you busy for a while. The Celko books are on "Pure" SQL. As such, they don't deal with applications to FoxPro but the material is still very usefull for Fox programmers.
