>>>Without doing a lot of homework on this, what will be the impact on this Version 10 S version and VFP 9 apps?
>>>
>>>I seem to have read that a user can pay $49 and upgrade it to Windows 10 Pro. I would assume that would make it run VFP just like other Windows 10 systems?
>>>
>>>Any thoughts are welcome. I know it will be only a matter of time before I will get calls from user's asking about this.
>>
>>As I understand it you will NOT be able to run VFP on the S version, since it will only run apps from Microsoft Store. I seriously doubt that Microsoft will allow any VFP applications in its store.

http://www.businessinsider.com/microsoft-criticism-why-it-costs-money-to-upgrade-windows-10-s-to-pro-2017-5That article claims apps are "containerized" i.e. isolated from one another. That might mean that functions such as Office automation or ShellExecute( ) from within VFP will no longer work.
The hardware is designed to compete against Chromebooks so is likely to be low-end. That said, if the device has enough free storage for your app(s) after upgrading to Pro, it might be a way to get a cheap device with good battery life.
