When I looked at the article in reference of your message, I was mostly interested into that section: "...the only way to deal with your HDCP compliance problem is to buy a cheap HDMI splitter that ignores HDCP requests."
It appears most of the issues are caused by that support. Thus, getting rid of it seems to be something to consider.
