His election was a key turning point for this country and we all had a lot invested in his success.
In many ways, Obama was a disappointment to me- his lack of leadership skills kept him from accomplishing a lot more than he did, but I'm glad that I supported his nomination and election.

I'm hoping that, sooner rather than later, either party comes up with a good female candidate so that we can turn that social corner as well. We have a female mayor here in Hamilton ( a repub) who is the most capable public servant I've seen in a long time. I'd love to see someone like her run for the presidency.
