>>But don't you think that when you have someone like Kushner doing what he's done a "crisis"?

Or even better a scandal? Until we step back and ask- what has he done exactly? The NYT quotes "sources" who say he had interactions with Russians and tried to set up a secret back channel- similar to the one Obama opened with Iran and many an administration established with Russia - which context conveniently is left out so people can pretend it's never happened before, crisis, scandal!

Again and again and again these "scandals" are flung about until it's discovered that the "scandal" is common practice. The only "new" development is chronic criminal leaking to a MSM eager to blow up every criminal leak into a hit. IOW previous "secret" practice is being leaked and weaponized by the MSM so people can justify their prejudice by screaming "crisis! Scandal!"

>> Or a president who gives our secrets to the Russians a "crisis"? The problem isn't the over-use of the word "crisis" - the problem is that it's one damn crisis after another with this guy and they're ones that HE creates. You thinking that it's over use of the word is simply you falling into the line of thinking he wants - wear you down until finally you think there is no real crisis because everything is a crisis.

The President is the ultimate declassifying agent. So there's no crime. At worst, he damaged international relations by leaking something he shouldn't. But unless you have evidence of this- why not focus on the DEFINITE international relations crisis caused by the NYT when it published leaked UK secrets shared with the US under the "5 eyes" security arrangement. NYT's selfish act caused the Brits to refuse to share ongoing information with the leaky US, which crisis is UNPRECEDENTED since WWII. Good job, NYT! And do you know who smoothed it over and made it better? Trump.

So I'm sorry but when you holler about Trump's non-crime while ignoring the damage the NYT definitely caused by publishing criminal leaking of UK secrets, what sort of credibility are you expecting?

Here's another: on 11 May, WAPO claimed (based on anonymous sources close to Rosenstein, needless to say) that deputy AG Rosenstein threatened to resign after he was made fall guy for the firing of Comey. The NYT published a missive directed at Rosenstein saying "In ordering you to write the memo [Trump] exploited the integrity you have earned over nearly three decades in public service, spending down your credibility as selfishly as he has spent other people’s money throughout his business career." Clearly the NYT isn't even pretending to be neutral any more. When somebody finally got around to asking Rosenstein or the DoJ, Rosenstein denied it and the DoJ refuted point blank that any such threat was made. Apologies from the NYT? Nope, just onto the next hit.

I call this FAKE NEWS that has been woven into the fabric of invented crisis along with all the rest, as if it's all irrefutable truth rather than wishful thinking.

Built on top of this is the crisis firing of Comey. "Sources" proliferate, competing to offer the worst scandalous explanation. Reuters says it was because Comey refused to allow preview of his testimony which Trump saw as insubordination, beaning in mind that Trump had sought a loyalty pledge according to a "source close to Comey." Other sources say it was because Trump wanted to derail the Russia investigations, as if Comey was doing all that himself and has no deputies. The next source says Trump was furious when Comey said he felt sick at the idea that he influenced the election, because Trump thinks it was all his own work. The next source scoffs at Trump's own words "FBI Director Comey was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton in that he gave her a free pass for many bad deeds!" because Trump benefited from the bungled email server scandal. The next source says Trump told the Russians that Comey is a "nutcase" so that when Ryan said "I don't think he's a nut case" that could be presented as Ryan and Trump feuding and/or Ryan undermining Trump. On and on and on..... so why did he actually fire Comey? I don't think you can even tell any more, there's such a massive stink raised.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
