>>One thing to keep in mind here is that the USA has been industrialized longer than everyone else - thus it's polluted more than anyone else in history, and even today we pollute more per-person than anyone else.

Yes, but we're told that greenhouse effect comes from amount of emitted carbon rather than any per-capita or per-customer calculation, even if they're convenient to justify a bigger hit for the US. And we cannot change the past when the US industry was where China is today.

>> You think there is going to be some giant revival of coal jobs or something? Do you understand those jobs are going away no matter what right?

Do you not understand why these straw men keep blowing over?

For the 3rd time, the US has discovered how to extract huge natural gas reserves that are cheaper and cleaner than coal. US natural gas prices have halved since 2014. So the national argument re coal is economic as well as moral.

Don't believe me? Try this from the MSM: http://money.cnn.com/2017/06/05/investing/coal-jobs-trump-natural-gas-paris/

>> You think poor countries that are just becoming industrialized should bear the same burden as us?

I presume that this is a rhetorical device without any real life poor country in mind.

Because the world's biggest polluters are China, US and India in that order. China and India have huge growing wealth and are expected to shunt Europeans aside to join the top 10 richest nations in coming years. All three ought to carry the brunt of any reduced emissions. But under the Paris accord, neither China nor India is prepared to commit any funds or reduced emission before 2030, whereas the US was meant to reduce its emissions by up to 35% if I understand correctly and to contribute billions of $ as well.

The MSM likes to pretend Trump pulled out because global warming is a scam, so they can play their usual narrative. But it's not the justification he gave. Did you hear his explanation?

The irony now is that European nations are going to posture and congratulate each other as saviors of the world... except that in real life, Paris doesn't drive a single reduced molecule of carbon from the 3 nations emitting most of it.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
