>Yet another example of the cost of nominating a crooked liar.

...kind of - but its the cost of voting for and electing the crooked liar that is more of an issue yes? -a nomination doesn't give you any authority to dictate polity - you gotta win the election for that.

>I personally watched Trump promise the people of West Virginia that coal would come back.
>He did it more than once.
>The second time, he had more people outside the convention hall than he had inside.
>It was a cynical lie.
>Barring some kind of miracle, coal will never come back and any simpleton can figure that out.

>West Virginia, some sections of western PA, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio have 3rd world economies.

If I was a coal miner in Kentucky I'd be wanting a solar panel manufacturing company to come to town and provide me with a job long before I'd want the unhealthy and dangerous job of working in a coal mine. And if I was a solar panel manufacturing company I would be looking for a low-cost location to build my manufacturing plant where people would want the jobs. If I lived there I would be calling my congressman begging them to try to lure such a business there and get me the hell out of the mine. We all know the coal jobs are going away - I'd be more interested in what they're going to do for jobs when that happens than trying to extend the life of a dying industry (that no one wants anyway).

>The problem is that the party that once championed working people is now controlled by Wall Street pawns like Schumer and Pelosi who worry more about where someone can pee than whether someone can eat.

But if you put this in perspective here - and compare the GOP platform an actions with those of the Dem's - I'd say at the moment the GOP is worse. They're the ones who worry about where someone pee's - and they're the ones trying to strip healthcare from millions of people and give huge tax breaks to the rich and have the poor pay for it right? The GOP wants to continue down a path that's been proven not to work (trickle down economics) But I for sure agree with you on the fact the dems have there fair share of special interest too - and remarkably I agree with pretty much everything else you just said!
