I gave it a try before I got your second response and you're right on the second. So I'm back to suing the type 'xls'. However, since I'm more familiar with VB, I'm doing some file manipulation through VB routines. However, I can't seem to do a SaveAs to an Excel 2.1 worksheet through VB coding.

Hmmm... I'll look further on the website for any more solutions.
