Hi you all VFP die-hard (if there are any left here...)
As some of you here, I still run and update fat VFP-based applications. And I am always interested in alternative platforms that would enable us to keep a significant portion of the VFP base-code I run whilst moving the UI to newfound lands.
Enters SCITER:
https://sciter.com/Why it's nice: compact and self-contained (a big thick dll full-stop). Anyone with a feedback on Sciter via python or others here would be welcome. The good news on SCITERS does not stop here since it offers bindings to a series of languages:
https://sciter.com/developers/sciter-sdk-bindings/Building VFP GUIs stay in touch with modern HTML/CSS-based GUI trends with a single-dll dependency, I'd buy the stuff if it worked. So I was wondering whether there could be an interest here for a VFP binding to SCITER. I take it that building such a binding is certainly not plain stuff. I understand as well that it does not solve the VFP long issues. But well I take it that it could certainly be done in a very reasonable timeframe. As far as I am concerned, I could certainly share the funding!
By the way SCITER Andrew Fedoniouk is Russian-born and some of the team members are certainly Eastern-Europe-based. For some reason some in the team or around them may even have a thorough understanding of FOX.
Anyone interested?
Daniel
