I was never a big mac person. Yes, I love a good gourmet burger and I can still do the Smoke & Pepper Burger at Red Robin (obviously can't touch the ketchup or the bun, ha).

Was a little disappointed to hear that the Peppercorn sauce in their Peppercorn burger will cost me about 22 carbs. Yes, I can have it and it won't kill me, but I have vowed to greatly limit carbs except for a monthly thin crust pizza

And I just did a celebration dance - new steakhouse wings at Longhorn and their regular filet have nearly zero carbs. Yes, I'll have to run on my bike for an hour afterwards, but at least I know it won't spike the blood sugar. Will be a great father's day dinner.

My average glucose over last 7 days is 111, and over last 14 days is 118. It was 240 when this started.

Yes, I realize I'm sharing a lot. I have taken this personally in huge ways. God rest his soul, I remember Mike Beane talking about his medical conditions (if memory serves, he was diagnosed with this). And I have a friend who did not take this seriously enough and wound up on insulin, in a walking boot, and lost a few toes and some of his vision. I'll be damned if I let that happen to me.

Right now my biggest enemy is not the urge to pop open a can of Coke or scarf down 3 pieces of cake. It's stress. I have a tough job/client (just like many people do). Over the last 21 days I had three spikes in the morning - in all 3 cases, I had to work late at night on something and had to deal with a difficult user at 7 AM the next morning. I am reading more and more how much stress impacts glucose. That's going to be a tougher one for me to manage.
