True, as long as the object is a property of the form. But doing that removes the ability to use drag and drop to populate the form and also using the combo for controlsource in the property sheet for setting the controlsource. It also has minor overhead issues with the extra objects that are required and can become complex when a form requires data from multiple tables.
It just seems easier to use the features of buffering to handle the edit buffering for me.
