I looked up some sites and description, but thought that while electron based approaches carry part of the jungle for using a banana, they are more in loop with current JS fwks. Using it as default GUI with the limited # of devs working on it is not a safe approach IMHO. If running into a memory-hog wall using Electron after pruning efforts (seems 50% is shed with ease from war stories) I might consider it ;-)
