>So Medicaid needs to be expanded again, to cover people who are worth less than - 5 million? 8 million? If so, you might as well advocate single payer care whose simplicity saves a fortune. Who cares if you also cover thre occasional 1%er who could pay for their own care; their neighbours' contributions will cover the cost of an occasional transplant.

Why do you keep jumping to insurance?
My mother - widowed during the depression with two sons- went to free clinics and we all somehow made it.
We had to wait in long lines and there was no latte in the waiting room, but we made it.

>>>We need to be mindful that care- not insurance- is what saves people.

>Yes, but the care has to be paid for
Yes, it does. And, barring extraordinary events (catastrophic insurance will kick in then) most people can pay for their care without any insurance.
As I said, for those who can't we need to provide a way to get them cared for.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
