"xml" is the extension that filters the files that will appear in the Open dialog, so it should be ok as it is, you''l just have to point to the exported Excel XML file.

If it does not work as intended, please post here the exported Excel XML file - I don't have Excel installed, and used LibreOffice for exporting, but I don't suspect anything wrong on that side. Just for reference, a screenshot of the cursor browsing is attached.
