We have not only pure car-self-owning companies like car2go, which is a branch car making industry is very interested in, as the discounts given to Hertz et al. are not really welcome and Hertz et al. have a big influence on used car prices of newer models.

There is also Deutsche Bahn trying to lure flight passengers and also hoping to get some to switch from self-driving between big cities.

The AirBnB-similar approach of owners meeting renters should level the market (at least insurance problems are out of the way), but the other avenues seem to grow faster at the moment.
