This is what I don't understand. Why do we need such complicated way of attaching keypress event? Why not simply add ng-keypress (or ng-change) directly to the input control and not use link function at all?

UPDATE. ng-keypress works quite nicely, no need to mess with link function at all.

I've tested in Google Chrome.
