>>>If you compare concludere with decidere (long "i") there might be some overlap, but the distinct sets are more in line of Holmes concluding something based on exhaustive analysis and Alexander deciding on battle strategies with some facts but elements of the battle still to enfold..

Japanese was not offered at school and Roman culture probably had best baths in my area throughout history - I consider Hamam to be only a Byzantine version of Thermae ;-))

>I assume you're referring to Latin (even though Alexander was Greek, though Dragan might insist on Macedonian)

If so, he probably would insist on ancient or classic Macedonia...

> so thanks for the reminder that "decidere" has little attachment to its English derivative. Latin derivations went haywire in common parlance, only closely preserved in English-speaking communities via Catholicism until 1969 and medicine to this day.

If both words are interchangeable, I cannot make a mistake deciding when to use which one of them. I conclude there is a chance that a nuance of difference might at least be realized by those also knowing about the Latin roots if used accordingly ;-)

If language is seen as a contemporary state of meaning agreements I try to roll back/clean up such haywire situations at least a tiny bit ;-)

Dragan or me ?

I never read Bill's shaving instructions in the original, but at least Wiki says last lines wording is not found his extant literature.
