I put in my time defending things to the death with a bunch of kids like myself and my right, your right, or anyone's right, to say things were not even close to being on our list of priorities.
Our first thought was getting out of there in one piece and then the images of teenage guys who were missing entire body sections remain way up there.
Those dismembered guys didn't think much about the writings of François-Marie Arouet, as eloquent as he might have been.
Once heads are pounded, "Il faut cultiver notre jardin" seems kind of trite.
