>>I posted this a week or two ago but still can't fix the error. I've erased VFP 3.0b completely and reinstalled. The setup wizard (the new one from M$ web site) works flawlessly, When you run setup.exe to install the app you get error 289, setup files damaged, object 240.

PROBLEM FIXED!!
Turns out I had a icon that was called nok..ico instead of nok.ico
What a pain in the @#$#?
Why didn't either the build.exe or the setup wizard identify this error.
I'm sorry but setup error 289 and object 240 (which referenced a nondescript line in the Win95stuff file) is not exactly what I call
helpful debugging info.
From my research I've gained the following.
Setup Error 289 means file does not conform to 8.3 standard Win 3.1 naming
interface. Even though I was installing this on a Win 95 machine, the setup program which is the same for Win 3.1 and Win 95 couldn't deal with a name like nok..ico as a file.
HTH anyone else out there getting similar errors
BTW, I now created a prg to scan all the files in my app directory and spit out anything not 8.3 to avoid future problems.
