Currently switching an existing app from angular 1.xx to 2 (also switching to .NET Core 2) - a LOT of rewriting but I must admit I find angular2 much cleaner and more logical that angularjs....

You're not using TypeScript ?

You probably want to use the latest AngularJs (version 2. ) if you decide on AngularJs for JavaScript framework. There are few others which you may compare for features.
