>>But you can't just pull someone over because they're black or look Mexican.

Legally, you can within 100 miles of the border if you have delegated immigration authority. Otherwise legally you oughtn't. Morally? There has to be a balance between cop safety and kids being killed because a cop thought their inhaler was a gun. Perhaps a would-be protestor should start by considering why a cop might think it more likely for one of the protestor's kindred to have a firearm compared to a little white (or black) granny. Back to my metaphor about white stripey snakes and why you can't treat them like squirrels.

>>You can't have one set of penalties for those who are white and another set of penalties for those who are black.

You're saying judges are biased? If so- then unless the beer-swilling fans you referenced elsewhere are judges, why are you protesting to a beer-swiller audience? You ought to be choosing an event where judges might actually be.

>>That is kinda the whole concept of the protest to begin with - racial bias. This isn't about hissing snakes it's about human beings.

The snakes was a metaphor for why the dreaded "racism" can be a necessary survival tactic for people in harm's way. For the rest: not convinced that creating a furor over standing for an anthem or flag, achieves anything except fuss. I can't imagine that any judge or cop is behaving differently because of it, while NFL has turned itself into another politicized organ that isn't as appealing to your beer swillers.

As an aside, do you go to NFL games? If not, then where would be a good venue if somebody wanted to protest with your approval and without offending others?
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
