>>>I have done all you and Tore suggested but failed. Then I tried reinstalling VFP9 and tried again. However it still failed. The only difference are the successful one is a real computer but the failed on is a Windows 10 Hyper V virtual computer. Before upgrading to Windows 10, there the layout works in both real and virtual computers.

>>It looks like you are right, I am not able to dock the command window on my Win10 machine either. I haven't noticed since I have never used this option. I prefer to have the command window completely separate from the VFP window, sometimes I have it on another monitor.

>Sometimes? In my case, always, and it's actually a stack of command, document view, properties and data session windows. My main reason for getting the 2nd monitor was to put the command window there :). Now after almost ten years in that configuration, I can't remember how I lived without it.

I use a laptop as my only workstation, sometimes I don't have external monitors.
