Victor, the problem with this definition is that it overlooks the concept of chauvinism as a broader concept, which can apply to either gender. And chauvinism can even be directed at one's own gender.
Consider this horribly overbearing and condescending lecture from Michelle Obama, who stated that women who didn't vote for HRC were voting against their own voices:

"Quite frankly we saw this in this election. As far as I'm concerned, any woman who voted against Hillary Clinton voted against their own voice in a way. To me, it doesn’t say as much about Hillary ― and everybody’s trying to wonder. Well, what does it mean for Hillary?  No, no, no. What does it mean for us as women? That we look at those two candidates, as women, and many of us said, ‘That guy. He’s better for me. His voice is more true to me.’ Well, to me that just says you don’t like your voice. You like the thing we’re told to like"

Hillary Clinton herself also claimed that women who voted for Trump were in some way doing so because they gave into the voices of men who somehow had control over them.

Some days I don't know which side I detest more - Trump, or the people who continue to make pathetic excuses for why HRC blew an election where she had every conventional advantage imaginable.

Yes, there are plenty of men who think women are inferior. When they behave that way, we call them sexist pigs (and usually rightfully so). I ask you why Michelle Obama's gender-shaming is any less repugnant. It's a rhetorical question, of course - her positon is disgusting and morally indefensible.
