>>>> You don't agree that they allow guns to be bought online and at gun shows with no background checks? You don't agree that the NRA and it's lobbyist are in great part responsible for all of this? There is no debatable conclusions here Kevin.

>Yes there are. It starts with the facts. And I'm sorry to say, I don't think you understand them.

>The fact is that there's no gun show loophole in itself. The problem exists when private non-licensed gun owners make private sales/transfers. Gun shows just happens to be one context where it occurs, however uncommon.

Oh the fact is that I understand perfectly. Gun show loophole, gun law loophole, Brady law loophole, Brady bill loophole, private sale loophole, private sale exemption ...call it whatever you want there are many names for it but it's different terms used to describe the exact same thing Just don't call it "uncommon' as it appears to account for a little more than 1 in 5 gun sales.

>The issue isn't with people who are in the actual business of selling guns. The overwhelming majority of guns offered for sale at gun shows are from federally licensed dealers, and a background check is required by law. Guns sold by private individuals is where the potential issue is - they are a much smaller % (though it's not zero)

22% is far from zero. And what exactly do you see the NRA and it's lobbyists and senators doing about this problem hmmm? Just trying to make it worse with less oversight. As for the legal gun dealers - there are indeed some bad ones too - and they seem to be able to continue to get away with it. Trump just ended yet another Obama era anti-gun policy that was taking aim at that problem.

This is right off the NRA website:
The National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) issued the following statement in support of the Trump Justice Department’s commitment to ending the controversial Obama-era program dubbed “Operation Choke Point”:

"On behalf of the NRA’s five-million members, I want to thank President Trump and Attorney General Sessions for ending ‘Operation Choke Point’," said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA-ILA. “President Obama's blatant attempt to misuse banking laws to destroy small firearm businesses was unconscionable. We appreciate the Trump administration's commitment to end it once and for all."

...and of course this is just one example. Read this for more:

So there are some facts. So what you think that legislation that would make it easier to buy gun silencers and to carry concealed weapons across state lines is good for American's or something? These guys are creeps who don't care about me, you, your daughter, or any other American. .Hell one of Trump's only legislative accomplishments so far has been law to make it easier for the mentally ill to get guns.
