How many US troops are there in New Zealand?

(The only ones I know of, involve a small satellite tracking station in the middle of nowhere and the Christchurch base for Antarctic flights).

NZ has an interesting recent history with the US military. NZ was drummed out of ANZAC co-operation and shunned by the US after NZ declared itself nuclear weapon free. Subsequently, a previous NZ Prime Minister (Helen Clark) delighted the White House by her public observation that the second Iraq invasion would not have occurred had Gore been elected.

While theoretically the US and NZ were back to behaving as allies as of 2013, meanwhile NZ was the first Western nation to sign a bilateral trade agreement with China. The TPP equivalent for the US that relaxed some of the unilateral barriers against NZ goods, was canned by Trump earlier this year.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
