>>Lastly I've repeatedly said why the people who voted for Trump did so -- I've said it to you 100 times.

>Victor, the Irish have been known for their persistence (stubbornness) but not for their brilliance - Joyce and Shaw notwithstanding- and I refuse to give up on you.

>I watched your link.
>He's not my favorite comic (Bob Hope and Bob Newhart were the last comics who could really make me laugh) Obscenities in comedy routines turn me off - it must be a generational thing.
>I've heard more than a few obscenities- I was a GI in the motor pool during the Korean war- and I don't need John Oliver or anyone else to spew more of them at me.

I too was a fan of Newhart and Hope - when I was like 6 years old. I am not a fan of comedy when the punch line is the F word - but I Oliver is not doing that and it's only in there a handful of times and not used as a punch line. Seeing how its 2017 and not 1950 I don't find it offensive.

>This forgettable link points to someone who's trying (hey - everyone has to make a living) to make hay out of Trump's foibles.
>It was lame - Trump's foibles are obvious.

If it's so obvious then you should not be supporting or defending him or think he's fit to hold office.

>I watched your link, painfully- do me the favor of watching this one.

Yeah seen the whole movie - along with all the Rambo movies and all the Sylvester Stallone flicks. He lived just a mile or two from me when I lived in South Florida. Whatever you do don't eat at his Italian restaurant in Boca Raton though -- thankfully that had a menu posted outside before we walked in ($45 for a plate of spaghetti !!!) - I wonder if the place is even still in biz haha.

>It's not cute, pithy, or hip.

>Check out a VA facility near you someday and watch the lines of Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq vets who are suffering because of the failures in our political system that led to these atrocities and can't get the care they need.

>After you see it, is John Oliver still funny- or even a person who's worth giving your attention?

WHATABOUTISM -- you're doing it right there -- AGAIN! That is just stupid -- you post a fictional video clip from an 80's movie that has nothing to do with the John Oliver topics, then want to say if you see this other unrelated fictional video clip does this other one still seem funny? Dude that is simply insane!

>Innocent people have been dying since 2003 and continue to die daily, killed by soldiers acting in our name, Victor.
>In any fair court, we'd be called accessories to murder.
>Is that funny?

WHATABOUTISM - again. John Oliver is not talking about solders or people getting killed is he? WHATABOUTISM.

>Vets can't get care.
>Big Pharma is addicting millions, as did big Tobacco.
>People are languishing in prisons.
>You're a systems guy. You're trained to ask "Why did these things happen?"

WHATABOUTISM

>Trump, albeit a clown, didn't make them happen.

that is yet again WHATABOUTISM Bill. Talk about what Trump and the GOP are doing to fix it - as that is where we are now right? Election is over Trump is in office and the GOP have control of congress - so what they doing?

ok ...lets take a look at what exactly has Trump and the GOP done to fix any of the problems since he took office shall we?
Lets see -- well the attempted repeals of ObamaCare would hurt veterans. The veterans that rely on Medicade would be hurt by the GOP cuts to it. Trump's plan to privatize the VA will hurt vets. Millions of veterans could be ineligible to receive tax credits under Republican healthcare plan they tried to pass.

Want to talk about the prison problem too? Look at what they've done since Trump took office -- rolling back all the things that were keeping drug users out of prisons. A new directive from Jeff Sessions reverses Obama-era policies on charging and sentencing nonviolent drug offenders and orders federal prosecutors to pursue the toughest possible penalties Bill. ..so they're taking U.S. Policy Back to 1980s and rolling back all the progress that was made under the Obama administration - a stupid move that's going to result in a huge increase in the prison population. Oh and speaking of those prisons -- so much for getting rid of those for-profit prisons (a horrible, horrible thing to have in a society to begin with) because now that's all greenlighted again and instead of phasing them out they're bringing more in.

Oh you said something about Big Pharma too -- ok the GOP Took $204 Million from Big Pharma and insurance giants Since 2010 - I could go on and on about this one. The GOP is not on your side here either Bill.

IF you actually stand for what you say you do then you should not be supporting these GOP guys or Trump. They are not making things better for these things you claim to care about, they are making things much worse. So either you really care about these topics or you don't. If you really do then you can't be supporting these guys Bill. IF you are willing to evaluate things objectively and truly stand for what you say you do, then the only conclusion that you can come to is that the wrong guys are in power for what you support.

You're a systems guy - try taking a look at the current system and it's current designers, not the old ones.
