>>>Ok who is president right now? That would be Trump, right? So talk about Trump. You can't use someone else's past failures as an excuse for new ones by a different person.
>
>Bill's point is that there are atrocities and deaths that were set in motion long before Trump, that ought to occupy national discourse. Which attention in turn would enable/shame politicians (including Trump to a limited extent, but mostly in the House) to act.

..and my point is that talking about past failures and using that as an excuse for Trump's failures is dangerous and counterproductive, particularly if a past failure is used to defend a current position. Think about how foolish this is. ..imagine a defense attorney -- 'Yes my client is a murderer, but what about Jeffrey Dahmer?, .. what about Ted Bundy?.... what about Richard Ramirez? .. I rest my case". ...its just as ignorant.

>Instead, bubble attention is firmly fixed on WHADABOUTTRUMP. Hundreds of thousands of innocents dead of starvation or curable disease in Iraq? WHADABOUTTRUMP. Entrenched hostility towards the US in large parts of the world? WHADABOUTTRUMP. ISIS enabled/armed/encouraged by ham-fisted uncoordination and hawk arrogance towards Iran and Russia? WHADABOUTTRUMP.

We already know what the rest of the world thinks of Trump - they also think he's unfit for office and a danger to the entire world. Did you read what was just written in the Der Spiegel weekly news magazine? That is what the whole world thinks dude. I know it, they know it, you know it, Bill knows it - hell everyone that can read and think knows it.
