>>>They're a bunch of political hacks trying to appear sage while protecting their pensions.

As I said, I see some good things happening in local politics.

Nationally, we have to figure out a way to improve the national dialogue.
I'm glad to see the NY Times giving less space to the groper stories and more to the wars and the tax bill.
That's a start.
It might be because one of their key DC reporters turned out to be a groper, but whatever the reason, it's a start.

>Yes. Though I have to marvel at both sides' skill every time in making it seem a mutual impropriety when they vote against the facts and the other side doesn't. I'd also add in fairness that sometimes what seems to be party lines, may not be. Clinton's acquittal by Senate sort of follows that, since he may have been guilty of perjury but wasn't an ongoing danger which is an allowed voting cue.

>>>Worried? Not really. The amazing thing about this place is that given enough time, we get things right.

>Yes, you do. Lets hope it can be sorted by one of the less dramatic precedents. But so far, as you note, people seem more preoccupied with accusations against the other side's candidates and POTUS. I had to laugh when I saw this comment by Conyers who is refusing to stand down from the House after accusations of sexual abuse: "“...equally important to keep in mind in this particular moment is the principle of due process and that those accused of wrongdoing are presumed innocent unless and until an investigation establishes otherwise. In our country, we strive to honor this fundamental principle that all are entitled to due process.” Seems that these people have crystal clarity when it's about themselves, but only know pitchforks and nooses if it's the other side accused.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
