In my company it is desired to make an application that works with db2/400 like server and any to browser like client. The question is:

1, It is single possible to make this project with Java like language client or whom other options of language there is to do the same.
2, if Java is the unica option, as are the version of java better consolidated in the market and as she is the one that offers to better support and reliability to one like developer?
