Well the second form had no way to tell the environment it wants those files too, so no it can't protect them. It just found them available when it launched so it used them.

I guess a Formset would get around the problem ok because the Formset owns the DE. I don't use formsets, because I don't find any benefit to using them, so I can't tell you the details using them. There is another thread in the last couple of days talking about formset pros/cons.

I don't know exactly what you are needing to do, but at first impression I'd use a 3 page tabless pageframe if you've got a step 1, 2, 3 form interface.
